What can you transfer to my new computer?

Documents, photos, videos, music, emails, contacts, calendars, browser bookmarks and, where supported, saved passwords. We also carry over common app data, printer setups, and desktop layout where sensible. Some apps require fresh installs. We list what will move before we start and confirm where everything ends up.

How long does setup and transfer take?

Most home jobs take 60 to 120 minutes. Big photo libraries, very slow old drives, or large system updates can add time. We give a clear estimate at the door, keep you updated, and aim to finish in one visit. If a workshop transfer is wiser for speed, we agree that first.

Can you move Outlook or Apple Mail emails?

Yes. We re-add accounts with IMAP or Exchange so mail resyncs, and import local archives where needed, for example PST from Outlook or Apple Mail export. We migrate contacts and calendars, fix signatures, set default accounts, and send a test email so you know it works.

What about programs and licences?

We reinstall key apps like Microsoft 365, browsers, Zoom, and your utilities. Where possible we carry over settings. Licences come from your keys or logins. Some programs cannot be copied directly and need fresh installers. We help locate keys, and never install paid software without permission.

Is my data safe and private?

Yes. We work on site where possible, use encrypted tools, and do not upload your files unless you ask for cloud sync. We create a quick backup or restore point before risky steps. On request we can sign a simple confidentiality note. Your data stays on your devices.

Can you move between Mac and Windows?

Yes. We move files, photos, and mail using IMAP or Exchange so everything appears on the new system. Bookmarks and contacts transfer too. Some apps have different versions or no direct equivalent, so we suggest alternatives and bring over data where supported.

Will you wipe or recycle the old computer?

We can secure wipe the old drive, remove and bag the disk for you, or prepare the device for recycling or donation. You get a wipe summary and we double check that nothing needed was left behind. If you prefer, we can keep the old drive as a belt and braces backup.
